Pictures of Quebec

These are all scanned photos from our trip to Quebec in September 1997. This was a one week trip concentrating mostly on Quebec City and Montreal. Unfortunately I took very few pictures of Montreal, since we were mostly visiting relatives. It was the first vacation we took after graduating (and marrying) in 1992. The whole process of travel was very new and little scary, but we obviously caught the bug because we've gone someplace interesting every summer since then.

In Quebec city, looking up at the big hotel that dominates the skyline (Château Frontenac). The old part of Quebec City looks very European, at least to a California kid.

In Quebec city, looking down at the St-Lawrence river.

In Quebec city, pretty much in the same area as the last one but looking towards the hotel.

There are surprisingly few guides that cover both Montreal and Quebec City, and most of the ones that do exist are pretty bad. I can't see going to Quebec and not visiting both cities, so I'm not sure why there's such a void. Luckily there is this one book in print and it's supposed to be pretty decent.
